PERFECTION IN EVERY DETAIL FOR THIS FATHER’S DAY

PRESS RELEASE
25 May 2015

Stenstrӧms are proud producers of shirts for those with an affinity for the finer things in life, who want to feel really special and stand out in a crowd. Their superior quality leaves men feeling well-dressed at work and comfortable during leisure time.

For many years, Stenstrӧms has been purveyors of fine garments to both the King and Queen of Sweden, has won a prestigious award at the Annual Habit Fashion Awards in Stockholm and, most recently, has claimed the Export Fashion prize at the Swedish fashion awards.

Every Stenstrӧms shirt embodies the perfect combination of top quality craftsmanship, exquisite fabric and impeccable, on-trend design. The brand offers an extensive range and every garment is masterfully created to retain its shape, elegance and comfort year in and year out.

An extensive range of skilfully selected and combined fabric, colours, collars and cuffs will ensure a gift of a lifetime – a well-made shirt in the finest fabric that retains its shape, elegance and comfort.

In addition to a Stenstrӧms purchase being one of absolute indulgence, one may also seek comfort in the knowledge that the purchase of a Stenstrӧms shirt contributes to the Streetsmart initiative – a programme which strives to uplift underprivileged children in South Africa.

Available at Stuttafords stores at Canal Walk, Cavendish Square, Clearwater, Eastgate, Menlyn Park, Sandton, Gateway, The Pavillion and Rosebank, shirts range from R899,95 to R1 699,95.

Stenströms support StreetSmart SA, a registered non-profit and a public benefit organisation that distributes raised funds to selected beneficiaries. The current beneficiaries in South Africa are organisations that work with street children and those who are vulnerable and at risk of becoming street children. StreetSmart SA raises money via participating restaurants, and distributes it directly to organisations that have the experience and facilities to help vulnerable children. Participating restaurants display a StreetSmart SA card on their tables, informing patrons that a voluntary R5 donation will be added to their bill, which they may increase at their discretion.

ADDITIONAL FACTS ABOUT STENSTRöMS

Every Stenstrӧms shirt consists of 23 pieces which are cut and assembled with precision.
Even today, most of the assembly is done by hand.
Every shirt goes through sixty different processes and five quality control stations.
The collar is made in 25 stages, which ensures it is comfortable and well fitting. Only the finest materials are used which will maintain their shape and elegance for years to come.

Each shirt uses 150 metres of thread. This thread is of the highest quality to ensure its long life and to minimise shrinkage.
Most buttons are handmade from real mother of pearl.
Stenströms mainly use cloth in 100% Egyptian twofold cotton, woven from yarn which is double-twisted to give distinctive colour, sheen and softness.

Stenströoms shirts come in a range of models from classic business shirts to more trendy designs for the younger man.
Classic is a popular model and can be described as a classic business shirt. It is full cut, comfortably shaped, with a back pleat.
Fitted Body is a somewhat slimmer model, also with a back pleat.
Slimline is a trendy model designed for the younger man. It fits snuggly and has no breast pocket.
Evening wear includes tails and dinner shirts.
Customers who prefer custom-made shirts have the opportunity to design their own shirts, by selecting the cloth, colours, cuff and collar, which are made to their personal measurements and specifications.
The company’s history goes back to 1899 when the tailor, August Stenström, started the first factory in Helsingborg. By 1912, it had expanded to become the biggest shirt factory in Scandinavia employing 140 workers.

In addition to classical Stenströms shirts, the brand also includes ladies’ blouses, knitwear and men’s boxer shorts. The ladies’ collection consists of a wide selection of blouses, shirts and tops in various styles and colours. Boxer shorts are of the same high quality as other Stenströms garments and are available in a variety of colours and designs.
